On this World Hepatitis Day, CMRI Liver Clinic hosted a social awareness programme through a panel discussion and interactive session on the rising incidence of fatty liver disease and Hepatitis amongst the urban population. The panel was a mix of hepatology, gastroenterology, interventional radiology and internal medicine. While Dr. Somnath Mukherjee (Consultant, Gastroenterology), Dr. Saswata Chatterjee (Consultant, Gastroenterology), Dr. Avik Bhattacharya (Consultant, Radiology), Dr. Asis Chakraborty (Consultant, IM) comprised the team for panel discussion, Dr. Suman Mitra (Consultant, IM) played an important role in moderating the whole programme and engaging the panelists and audience in an interactive dialogue. The programme received a high level of engagement from the audience.
As a part of their social initiative, the event was partnered by ZydusHeptizaand Radio Channels like Radio One and Fever FM. Zydusheptiza offered free of cost Hepatitis B & Hepatitis C blood check to all the participants who attended the programme and Radio One and Fever FM covered the show for mass awareness.
