On World Diabetes Day, CK Birla Hospitals CMRI organised a free Random Blood Sugar test in CMRI premises to create awareness about Diabetes. Over 150 people got the benefit of the free check-up.

It is true that there is no cure for this disease. You can only control it by having proper meals, exercise and keeping your blood sugar normal. “Diabetes can affect many parts of your body over time including the entire GI tract – from the oral cavity and oesophagus to the large bowel and anorectal region and alter your digestion process. This condition is known as Gastroparesis which affects people mostly suffering from Type 1 diabetes. Common symptoms like nausea, vomiting, weight loss, heartburn, abdominal pain are major signs. The best solution is to seek immediate medical help and lower your blood sugar level through medication.” avers Dr. Saswata Chatterjee, (Diabetes and Gastroenterology) CK Birla Hospitals CMRI.
